מתברר שעל-פי הנחיית משרד הבריאות כל תלמיד באחד מבתי הספר למקצועות הבאים: סיעוד, קורס על-בסיסי בסעוד, רפואה, רפואת שיניים, סייעות לרופאי שיניים, שינניות, פיסיותרפיה, ריפוי בעיסוק, הפרעות בתקשורת, טכנאות הדמיה, תזונה, ביו טכנולוגיה רפואית, מעבדנות רפואית ורפואת חירום (פרמדיקים), חייבים להתחסן כנגד המחלות הבאות:

• שתי מנות של חיסון נגד שתוק ילדים ומנת דחף.
• שתי מנות חיסון נגד חצבת, חזרת ואדמת (MMR).
• שלוש מנות חיסון נגד דלקת כבד נגיפית B.
• שתי מנות של חיסון נגד טטנוס-דיפתריה (Td) ומנת דחף ב-10 שנים אחרונות.
• לתלמיד שאינו זוכר שחלה באבעבועות רוח או שלא חוסן נגדה, שתי מנות חיסון נגד אבעבועות רוח.
• מנה אחת של חיסון נגד שפעת לתלמיד מקצועות הבריאות בכל גיל.

בפקולטה למדעי הבריאות באוניברסיטת בן גוריון הוציאו הנחיה מחייבית ובה תלמיד לא יוכל להרשם לשנה ב' אם לא יציג אישור על התחסנות.

חשוב להבין, שרוב רובם של אנשי מנגנוני הבריאות אינם רשעים מרושעים ששואפים להכחיד את האנושות בחיסונים ותרופות רעילים, אלא פשוט אנשים רגילים שדחפו להם לראש "אמיתות" מסויימות, והם קיבלו אותן בשם הסמכות האקדמית שדחפה להם אותן.

אבל, חשוב לדעת מה מתוכנן לנו על ידי משרד הבריאות שאוהב לשמור על הבריאות שלנו בזה שהוא הולך אחרי המלצות ארגון הבריאות העולמי בעיניים עצומות.

מדיניות החיסונים בישראל מצויה באחריות משרד הבריאות. הגורם המנחה את המשרד בתחום זה היא הוועדה המייעצת למחלות זיהומיות ולחיסונים. לנוכח הגלובליזציה של מחלות מידבקות ניתן משקל רב בהמלצות הוועדה להמלצות ארגון הבריאות העולמי, WHO, המרכז לבקרת מחלות של ארה"ב, CDC, המרכז לבקרת מחלות של האיחוד האירופי, ECDC, והמלצות מדינות מערב שונות, תוך יישומן למצב הייחודי לישראל.

ישראל הייתה מדינה מובילה בתחום החיסונים אך כבר איננה כזאת יותר
עד סוף שנות התשעים הייתה תוכנית חיסוני השגרה של גיל הילדות בישראל מן המורכבות והמובילות בעולם. רק בארה”ב התוכנית הייתה מורכבת יותר. ((Rishpon,2006 שיעור כיסוי חיסוני השגרה של גיל הילדות בישראל הוא גבוה: 94%. עלות התרכיבים של חיסוני השגרה של גיל הילדות בישראל ב-2007 היה 78.2 מיליון ש"ח (מדינת ישראל, 2007).
התוכנית כוללת חיסונים נגד 10 מחלות: דלקת כבד B, דיפתריה, טטנוס, שעלת, פוליו, המופילוס אינפלואנזה B, חצבת, חזרת, אדמת ודלקת כבד נגיפית A. אולם, בשנים האחרונות שבהן מדינות המערב וחלק מן המדינות המתפתחות מוסיפות חיסונים חדשים רבים, נעצרה תוספת חיסונים חדשים בישראל ונפער פער משמעותי בין תוכנית חיסוני השגרה של ישראל לזו של מדינות המערב. כל מדינות המערב נמצאות בתהליך הכללת שישה חיסונים חדשים בתוכניות החיסון השגרתי שלהן, EUVACNET 2007) ,CDC 2007). רוב המדינות העשירות מכלילות אותם בתוכנית חיסוני השגרה ללא קושי מיוחד. המדינות העניות רוכשות את החיסונים החדשים בתעריף מוזל מיוחד ומקבלות מימון מקרנות עולמיות, כמו – Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunizations ,GAVI ו-noitadnuoF SETAG (GAVI, 2007). לעומת זאת, מאז 1999 נוסף בישראל רק חיסון חדש אחד ב-2005: החיסון נגד שעלת בכיתות ב. שישה חיסונים ניתנים כיום כחיסוני שגרה בארה"ב ובחלק מהמדינות המפותחות והמתפתחות, שאינם ניתנים בישראל. כולם מומלצים על ידי משרד הבריאות, אך עדיין אינם נכללים בתוכנית חיסוני השגרה הניתנת ללא תשלום.

ה. חיסון נגד נגיף רוטה מ-2007
ו. חיסון נגד סרטן צוואר הרחם (HPV) מ-2007
הקצאת התקציב המתאים לחיסון חדש בישראל כללה עד 1995 דיונים עם משרד האוצר לקראת שנת התקציב הבאה על תוספת מתאימה לבסיס התקציב של משרד הבריאות. חיסונים הוספו לתוכנית חיסוני השגרה תוך 3-1 שנים מאז ניתנה המלצת הוועדה. מאז נכנס החוק לתוקפו ב-1995 משרד האוצר אינו מקצה תקציב לחיסונים, וממליץ למשרד הבריאות לתקצבם דרך ”תוספת טכנולוגיה חדשה” על פי החוק הנ”ל. משרד הבריאות העדיף לא לכלול חיסונים בתוספת זו אלא לבקש תקציב מיוחד. התקציב לא התקבל. לפיכך, לא נמצא התקציב להוספת חיסונים חדשים.
החיסונים החדשים מהווים את סטנדרד הטיפול במדינות המערב. ישראל מדינה מערבית ועליה להגן על בריאות ילדיה בסטנדרד מערבי.

התוכנית לסגירת הפער בין תוכניות החיסון בישראל לבין אלו של מדינות המערב
הוועדה המייעצת למחלות זיהומיות ולחיסונים של משרד הבריאות המליצה בפברואר 2007 להכליל בהקדם האפשרי בתוכנית חיסוני השגרה של גיל הילדות בישראל חמישה מהחיסונים החדשים (משרד הבריאות, 2007). הוועדה קבעה שחשיבות 4 מהחיסונים החדשים דומה, ולא ניתן לדרגם לפי חשיבותם. מדובר בהגדלה גדולה מאוד של תקציב החיסונים (מ-78 מיליון שקל בשנה לכ-535 מיליון שקל בשנה) ובתוספת של 157 משרות של אחיות. מתוך גישה מציאותית המליצה הוועדה להוסיף באופן הדרגתי את החיסונים כל שנה עד 2011. מכיוון שחשיבות 4 מהחיסונים דומה הרי שסדר הכנסתם שהומלץ התבסס גם על שיקולים לוגיסטיים ואתיים:
I. ניתנה עדיפות ראשונה להכללה בתוכנית חיסוני השגרה
ב-2008 לחיסונים שעליהם הומלץ כבר לפני 8-4 שנים: החיסון נגד אבעבועות רוח (המלצת הוועדה ניתנה
ב-2004) וחיסון נגד שעלת בכיתה ח (המלצה מ-2000). נימוקים נוספים:
א. קל יותר להכליל את שני החיסונים הנ"ל בתוכנית החיסון
הקיימת מאשר את שאר החיסונים כי אין הם דורשים כוח אדם נוסף אלא רק החלפת חיסונים קיימים בקומבינציה חדשה הכוללת את החיסונים החדשים:
1. בכיתה ח החלפת "חיסון כפול" נגד דיפתריה וטטנוס,
TD, ב"חיסון משולש" נגד דיפתריה, טטנוס ושעלת, Tdap.
2. בגיל שנה ובכתה א החלפת "חיסון משולש" נגד חצבת,
חזרת ואדמת, ,MMR ב"חיסון מרובע" נגד חצבת, חזרת, אדמת ואבעבועות רוח, MMRV.
ב. נימוק אתי ואפידמיולוגי לגבי החיסון נגד אבעבועות רוח:
משרד הבריאות ממליץ שנים על קבלת החיסון נגד אבעבועות רוח לכל אדם מגיל שנה ומעלה שלא חלה במחלה. שיעור הילדים המקבלים בישראל את החיסון באמצעות ביטוח משלים או רופאים פרטיים הגיע ככל הנראה ל-40%-15%. בעקבות שיעור גדל של ילדים שקיבלו את החיסון, החל לרדת שיעור התחלואה באבעבועות רוח בישראל מאז 2001 באופן משמעותי. במצב זה של חיסון סלקטיבי פוחתת חסינות האוכלוסייה המבוגרת הצעירה והמבוגרת נגד אבעבועות רוח. עקב כך יידחה גיל ההדבקה באוכלוסייה לגיל שבו גבוהה בהרבה שכיחות סיבוכי המחלה, בעיקר דלקת מוח ודלקת ריאות. מספר הפטירות יגדל. אין דרך למנוע מצב זה אלא על ידי הכללתו בהקדם של החיסון נגד אבעבועות רוח בתוכנית חיסוני השגרה של גיל הילדות.
II. בסדר ההכללה הבא נמצאים יחד החיסונים נגד פנוימוקוקים ונגד נגיף רוטה. ניתנה עדיפות לחיסון נגד פנוימוקוקים שייכלל בתוכנית החיסונים ב-2009. הסיבה לעדיפותו על פני החיסון נגד נגיף רוטה היא ההזדמנות להשיגו במחיר זול יחסית.
III. בשנת 2001 מתוכנן להתווסף החיסון נגד נגיף רוטה. החיסון נגד נגיף פפילומה הוא האחרון בסדר ומומלץ שיתווסף ב-2011. הסיבות לכך:
א. עומס התחלואה נמוך יחסית לשאר המחלות הנדונות.
ב. החיסון חדש ונכנס לתוכנית חיסוני השגרה במדינות המערב
רק ב-2007. נותרו שאלות מסוימות לא פתורות לגביו. עדיף להמתין לתוצאות ניסיון השימוש בו במדינות אחרות.

אומדני עלויות של התוכנית הרב שנתית
אומדנים של מחירי חיסון לשנה כפי שניתנו באמצע שנת 2007:
נחוצים עוד 22 מיליון ש"ח תוספת קבועה עבור 157 תקני אחיות.
משרד הבריאות אימץ את המלצות הוועדה המייעצת, אך עדיין לא הוסדר התקציב הרב שנתי הדרוש ליישומה. לקראת 2008 פועל המשרד לקבלת התקציב מההקצאה לטכנולוגיות חדשות על פי חוק ביטוח בריאות ממלכתי. לפיכך, יתווספו בתוכנית של גיל הילדות ב-2008: 2 מנות חיסון נגד אבעבועות רוח (בגיל שנה ובכיתה א) והחיסון נגד שעלת בכיתה ח.

החובה החוקית של המטפל למסור על חיסונים שעדיין אינם בסל הבריאות
החובה החוקית למסור מידע על טיפולים רפואיים חלופיים (נוספים) מעוגנת בסעיף 13(ב) (4) לחוק זכויות החולה התשנ"ו 1996. סעיף זה מתייחס למתן מידע על סיכויים וסיכונים של טיפולים רפואיים חלופיים". פרשנות לסעיף זה נתן בית המשפט העליון בשני ערעורים על פסיקת בית המשפט המחוזי בהתייחס להמלצה על ביצוע סריקת מערכות בהיריון אשר אינה נכללת ב"סל". הפרשנות היא שאכן מוטלת חובה כזו על מטפלים. שופטי בית המשפט העליון פסקו שקיימת חובה ליידע כל אישה הרה על בדיקות שנוספות על אלו הממומנות במסגרת הרפואה הציבורית. הסיבה: "מותר להניח כי קיימת אצל כל הורה ציפייה סבירה לקבל בעניין זה את מלוא המידע האפשרי מן המטפל". דורית בייניש, המשנה (דאז) לנשיא בית המשפט העליון, קבעה: "המבחן הקובע באשר לחובת הגילוי הוא המבחן של צורכי המטופל הסביר. מבחן זה אינו מחייב את הרופא להודיע לחולה על כל סיכון חבוי שאינו רלבנטי לגביו".
המטופל הסביר מתייחס אל רופאי הילדים ואל צוותי תחנות טיפת חלב כמומחים לחיסונים. המחלות שמונעים החיסונים הנדונים, רלבנטיים לכל הורה. לכן, חלה חובה על כל רופא ואחות המטפלים בילדים, כולל רופאי ילדים ורופאי משפחה, ליידע את ההורים על כל החיסונים המומלצים על ידי משרד הבריאות ולא רק על אלו שמסופקים חינם על ידיו. אי מתן מידע זה הוא רשלנות רפואית. דפי מידע לרופאים ולאחיות לשם מסירה להורים יופצו על ידי משרד הבריאות בקרוב ויימצאו באתר האינטרנט של משרד הבריאות (משרד הבריאות, 2007) (1). המידע על חיסונים אלו מועבר להורים כדי לאפשר להם להחליט אם ברצונם לחסן בחיסונים אלו את ילדיהם באופן פרטי (תמורת תשלום) או באמצעות הביטוח המשלים בקופות החולים.

יעדי ישראל לשנת 2020 בנושא החיסונים

משרד הבריאות מינה ועדות מקצועיות להמלצות על יעדי הבריאות של המדינה עד שנת 2020. להלן המלצות הוועדה לחיסונים (לעתיד בריא, 2007).
1. הרכב תוכנית החיסונים
עד שנת 2010 תדון הוועדה המייעצת למחלות זיהומיות ולחיסונים בהתאמתו לשימוש בישראל של כל חיסון חדש המומלץ ע"י CDC או ECDC או WHO תוך חצי שנה מהיום שבו הומלץ השימוש בו על ידי אחד מהם. עד סוף שנת 2015 תהיה המלצת הוועדה בנושא חיסונים החלטה מחייבת ליישום בשנת התקציב הקרובה ביותר לקבלת ההמלצה.
2. רשומה ממוחשבת לאומית של חיסונים
עד שנת 2010 תמוסד רשומה לאומית ממוחשבת של חיסונים שבה ייאגר המידע על כל חיסון הניתן לתושב המדינה בכל גיל, בין שהוא ניתן בתחנת טיפת חלב ובין שהוא ניתן בכל שירות בריאות אחר. הרשומה תאפשר מעקב בזמן אמיתי על שיעור כיסוי החיסון, החלטות על צורך בחיסון בפרט, זימון לקבלת חיסון והנפקת פנקס חיסונים.
3. חיסון מבוגרים
עד שנת 2008 תנוסח תוכנית החיסונים המומלצת לכל מבוגר בישראל לפי גיל. התוכנית תתעדכן באופן קבוע. עד שנת 2010 תיכלל תוכנית החיסונים המומלצת לכל מבוגר בישראל לפי גיל ב"סל הבריאות" שעל קופות החולים לספק על פי חוק ביטוח בריאות ממלכתי.
תשתית הספקת החיסונים בישראל ובעולם פותחה היטב בעיקר עבור ילדים ופחות עבור מבוגרים. כתוצאה מכך גבוהים יותר כיום שיעורי התחלואה והפטירה ממחלות שניתן למנוע בחיסונים בקרב מבוגרים מאשר בקרב ילדים. משרד הבריאות בישראל לא פרסם המלצות מסודרות ושיטתיות, המכוונות למבוגרים. ההמלצות לחיסון מבוגרים מפוזרות בפרסומים שונים שלו, בעיקר ב-4 מקומות עיקריים:
א. תדריך החיסונים בפרק של כל חיסון
ב. המלצות המחלקה לאפידמיולוגיה ליוצאים לחו"ל
ג. הנחיות לחיסון עובדי בריאות
4. חוזרי המחלקה לאפידמיולוגיה: הוועדה המייעצת למחלות
זיהומיות ולחיסונים המליצה ב-2007 שמשרד הבריאות יצטרף לגישה המקובלת כיום במדינות המערב על פיה אין כיום "חיסון מבוגרים עבור מבוגרים" ו"חיסון ילדים עבור ילדים" אלא: החיסון הוא Life Cycle Event מלידה ועד זקנה. חיסון מבוגרים מגן גם על ילדים וחיסון ילדים מגן גם על מבוגרים. הוועדה המליצה שהמחלקה לאפידמיולוגיה תנסח את לוח החיסונים המומלצים לבני 19 שנים ומעלה. לוח זה יכלול את ההוריות המומלצות על ידי CDC לפי גיל ולפי קבוצות סיכון (מתעסוקה, ממחלה ומהתנהגות). התוכנית תותאם למצב הייחודי של ישראל. החיסונים יוצגו בשני חלקים נפרדים: האחד – החיסונים שכבר כיום ממומנים על ידי קופות החולים, והשני – החיסונים שעדייו אינם ממומנים על ידיהן.
ההמלצות יכללו גם חיסון מבוגרים נגד שעלת. תוכנית חיסון מבוגרים נגד שעלת בארה"ב הוא רחב מאוד. מטרתו להגן מפני שעלת עליהם ועל תינוקות בחודשי חייהם הראשונים. משיקולי מעשיות וצמצום עלויות המליצה הוועדה המייעצת למחלות זיהומיות ולחיסונים בישראל לחסן מבוגרים נגד שעלת רק במסגרות שבהן קיימת תשתית לכך או אוכלוסייה נגישה:
1. לחסן פעם אחת על ידי חיסון Tdap בכל מצב שבו היום כבר
ניתן TD כולל חיסון שגרתי כל 10 שנים, חיסון לאחר פציעה בחדרי מיון ובמרפאות קופות החולים וחיסון ביום הגיוס לצה"ל.
2. לחסן נשים לפני ההיריון ולאחריו, כולל לפני טיפול בהפריה
חוץ גופית.
3. לחסן עובדי מקצועות הבריאות ותלמידי מקצועות הבריאות.
4. לחסן עובדי הוראה.
ההנחיות לחיסון מבוגרים יכללו גם תוכניות Catch Up של חיסוני השגרה של גיל הילדות.
נוסף על כך, המליצה הוועדה שהמחלקה לאפידמיולוגיה תנסח טבלה של החיסונים המומלצים גם לבני 18-0 שנים, תוך מתן סימונים שונים לחיסונים הנכללים כיום ב"סל השירותים" ולאלו שעדיין אינם נכללים בו. ההמלצות יפורסמו באתר האינטרנט של משרד הבריאות ויופצו כנוהל של המשרד.
הוועדה המליצה לפעול להכללת ההמלצות על חיסון מבוגרים בתוספת השנייה של חוק ביטוח בריאות ממלכתי כך שהם יינתנו במרפאות הראשוניות של קופות החולים כחלק מ"סל השירותים" (משרד הבריאות, 2007).

סיכום
בשנת 2007 פועל משרד הבריאות לצמצם את הפערים בתוכניות החיסון של ילדים ומבוגרים. זה תהליך שיארך מספר שנים. עד אז חובת כל רופא המטפל בילדים להמליץ להורים לחסן את ילדיהם בחיסונים אלו תמורת תשלום.

הם לא לומדים? הם לא יודעים שהמחדל של שנה שעברה רק מראה לציבור ביתר שאת שהם משקרים?

עולים דיווחים שחיסונים גרמו לעד 3500 הפלות בארה"ב בשנה שעברה – תגידו לי, לעיתונאים האלה אין מצפון? אין איזה אדם שם שמנהל את העניינים, ובמקום לספור את הכסף, מעדיף לספור תינוקות שניצלו?

בכל מקרה התגובות לכתבה הזו מדהימות, בקושי יש שם תגובה אחת בעד החיסון. כולם צועקים נגד חברות התרופות הגדולות ונגד קבלת החיסון. כדאי לקרוא אותן.

הנה תגובה אחת מדהימה על אחד מהחיסונים החדשים, Fluzone, שלכאורה נטען לגביו שהוא ללא חומרים משמרים (ללא תימרוסל, כספית). המגיב, Avid Reader ("קורא נלהב"), אומר שיצרנית החיסון טוענת שהחיסון מכיל "שאריות מזעריות של תימרוסל", אך מאחר ו-25 מק"ג של תימרוסל זו כמות מזערית, הטענה הזו מעורפלת במקרה הטוב. הנה התגובה:

The PF stands for preservative free, but it is a label misnomer. Although the formulation won't contain 25 mcg of mercury as per the manufacturer, it still contains a trace of mercury. As 25 mcg itself is a trace amount, it's totally unclear what their definition is of a trace amount. (…)

The package insert states, “Animal reproductive studies have not been conducted with Fluzone. It is also not known whether Fluzone can cause fetal harm when administered to a pregnant woman or can affect reproductive capacity. Fluzone should be given to a pregnant woman only if clearly needed…It is not known whether Fluzone is excreted in human milk. Because many drugs are excreted in human milk, caution should be exercised when Fluzone is administered to a nursing woman.

עוד הוא אומר, שלא נערכו מחקרים הקשורים לרביה בחיות ולא ידוע אם החיסון יכול לגרום לנזק הקשור למערכת הרביה (הפלות, עקרות, נזק לעובר). בנוסף, כך כתוב על גבי החיסון, לא ידוע אם חומרי החיסון מופרשים בחלב האם לתינוק.

ארגון הבריאות העולמי הכריז ביום שלישי על סופה של "מגפת" שפעת החזירים ועל חזרה לשגרה.
המשמעות היא ששפעת החזירים כבר לא נמצאת בדרגה 6 ובאופן רשמי אינה מוגדרת כמגיפה ע"י ארגון הבריאות העולמי.

לפי המספרים הרשמיים, כ-19,000 איש מתו משפעת החזירים ברחבי העולם.

• Jon Stewart, I used to think his commentary was hilarious.  After watching him associate the vaccination-education movement or vaccine “truth” movement with Glenn Beck, I am utterly out of words.  Those who question vaccines are not doing it for the reasons you presented on your show the other night.  I am sorry to say this but Jon Stewart, you sold out.  Stewart made the insinuation that those who question vaccines do so because they do not trust their government. Didn’t he not trust the government under Bush?  What a hypocrite, plus, this is not a republican or democratic issue, which he tried to say it was.  He lied and said the vaccine has been tested to be safe.  No it hasn’t.

• Health freedom attorney Jim Turner has told NaturalNews he is filing a lawsuit mid-day Friday that seeks to halt the distribution of all swine flu vaccines in America. Brief History of News Reports on H1N1 That Should Sound Alarm Bells

• On January 14th, 2004, the CDC announced that it was to mix avian, human flu viruses in a pandemic study – "rather than waiting to see if nature spawns such a hybrid, US scientists are planning to try to breed one themselves—in the name of preparedness." As it turned out, this was the exact strain that became known as H1N1 that would be later released on the masses in 2009, 5 years after this study.

• The patent for the actual vaccine was applied for by Baxter (Vaccine Manufacturer and Big Pharmaceutical Giant) but what makes this application for the patent on the vaccine so weird is that the patent was applied for 2 years before the outbreak, 3 years after the CDC did a study on the pandemic itself for this specific strain

• Baxter was the company caught sending out contaminated vaccinations in Europe that were going to spread Avian Bird Flu had a lab tech not discovered the error.  It was later discovered this was no error, but in reality, a probable bioweapon incident where Baxter was trying to spread disease intentionally in "vaccinations."

• The first case was seen in Mexico on April 13. The outbreak coincided with President Barack Obama’s trip to Mexico City on April 16. Attempted murder of 6 Harvard microbiologists disclosed this week.  A leading toxicologist believes the chances are slim that six lab workers at Harvard University Medical School were poisoned by accident.  "An accident? Sodium azide is a poison," said David M. Benjamin, a toxicologist and Chestnut Hill-based clinical pharmacologist. "Absolutely not."  The Herald reported yesterday that six scientists and students at the New Research Building in Boston's Longwood Medical area were mysteriously poisoned after drinking from a communal, single-serve coffee machine on the eighth floor near their pathology lab on Aug. 26. Seconds later all six reported symptoms including dizziness and low blood pressure and were taken to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center for treatment.

Dr David Kelly and others…

Dr. David Kelly was an unlikely dissident. In fact Kelly wasn’t a dissident at all, but a prominent figure in Britain’s bioweapons defense establishment.  The former head of the microbiology department at Porton Down, the UK’s secret biological and chemical warfare research facility, at the time of his 2003 death Kelly was a consummate insider, a trusted keeper of state secrets; dangerous and deadly secrets that could topple governments.  A civilian employee of Britain’s Ministry of Defence (MoD), Dr. Kelly was a biological weapons expert and former United Nations weapons inspector in Iraq.  While David Kelly wasn’t a spy, he did enjoy unprecedented access to the world of secret intelligence. Indeed, according to author Gordon Thomas, Kelly had helped orchestrate the defection of a top Russian microbiologist Vladimir Pasechnik (who turned up dead in 2001, allegedly from a stroke) and played a part in the FBI’s investigation into the 2001 anthrax attacks in the United States by trying to identify the origin of the Ames strain used in the fatal mailings which ended up turning into a highly top secret investigation since evidence mounted that the Anthrax attacks were from inside the military’s most secure bioweapons facility. But it has now come to light that there may be another compelling reason why Dr Kelly might have been murdered.

Amazingly, 12 other well-known micro-biologists linked with germ warfare research have died in the past decade, five of them Russians investigating claims that the Israelis were working on viruses to target Arabs.  The Russian plane in which they were travelling from Tel Aviv to Siberia was shot down on October 2001 over the Black Sea by an 'off-course' Ukrainian surface-to-air missile.  Dr Kelly knew the victims and asked MI6 to find out more details. However, they drew a blank.

Five weeks later, Dr Benito Que, a cell biologist known to Dr Kelly, was found in a coma near his Miami laboratory. The infectious diseases expert had been investigating how a virus like HIV could be genetically engineered into a biological weapon.

Ian Langford was a senior Fellow at the University of East Anglia’s Centre for Social and Economic Research on the Global Environment.  His body was discovered on by police and paramedics. The body was naked from the waist down and partly wedged under a chair. It is understood that doors to the terraced house were locked.

Tsunao Saitoh
Tsunao Saitoh was a leading Alzheimer's researcher.  He and his 13 year-old daughter were killed in La Jolla, California, in what a Reuters report described as a "very professionally done" shooting. He was dead behind the wheel of the car, the side window had been shot out, and the door was open. His daughter appeared to have tried to run away and she was shot dead, also.

Linda Reese
Linda Reese was a microbiologist working with victims of meningitis.  She died three days after she studied a sample from Tricia Zailo, 19, a Fairfield, N.J., resident who was a sophomore at Michigan State University. Tricia Zailo died Dec. 18, a few days after she returned home for the holidays.

Jeffrey Paris Wall
Jeffrey Paris Wall was a biomedical expert who held a medical degree, and he also specialized in patent and intellectual property.  Mr. Walls body was found sprawled next to a three-story parking structure near his office. He had studied at the University of California, Los Angeles.

Ivan Glebov and Alexi Brushlinski.
These were two microbiologists. Both were well known around the world and members of the Russian Academy of Science.  Glebov died as the result of a bandit attack and Brushlinski was killed in Moscow.

David W. Barry
David W. Barry was a scientist who codiscovered AZT, the antiviral drug that is considered the first effective treatment for AIDS.  Circumstance of Death: unknown

Victor Korshunov
Victor Korshunov was an expert in intestinal bacteria of children around the world.  He was bashed over the head near his home in Moscow.

Tanya Holzmayer
Tanya Holzmayer was a Russian who moved to the U.S. in 1989, focused on the part of the human molecular structure that could be affected best by medicine.  She was killed by fellow microbiologist Guyang (Matthew) Huang, who shot her seven times when she opened the door to a pizza delivery. Then he shot himself.

Guyang Huang was a microbiologist who apparently shot himself after shooting fellow microbiologist, Tanya Holzmayer, seven times.

David Wynn-Williams
David Wynn-Williams was a respected astrobiologist with the British Antarctic Survey, who studied the habits of microbes that might survive in outer space.  He died in a freak road accident near his home in Cambridge, England. He was hit by a car while he was jogging.

Steven Mostow
Steven Mostow was known as "Dr. Flu" for his expertise in treating influenza, and a noted expert in bioterrorism of the Colorado Health Sciences Centre.  He died when the airplane he was piloting crashed near Denver.

David R. Knibbs, PhD
David R. Knibbs  was Director of Electron Microscopy at Hartford Hospital and had a doctorate in pathobiology from the University of Connecticut. He also served as an adjunct faculty member at the University of Hartford.  He collapsed and died after an evening run (one of his joys in life).

Dr. Leland Rickman of UCSD
Dr. Leland Rickman  was an expert in infectious disease who helped the county prepare to fight bioterrorism after Sept. 11.  He was in the African nation of Lesotho with Dr. Chris Mathews of UCSD, the director of the university's Owen Clinic for AIDS patients. Dr. Rickman had complained of a headache and had gone to lie down. When he didn't appear for dinner, Mathews checked on him and found him dead. A cause has not yet been determined.

Michael Perich
Michael Perich  was an LSU professor who helped fight the spread of the West Nile virus. Perich worked with the East Baton Rouge Parish Mosquito Control and Rodent Abatement District to determine whether mosquitoes in the area carried West Nile.  Walker Police Chief Elton Burns said Sunday that Perich of 5227 River Bend Blvd., Baton Rouge, crashed his Ford pickup truck about 4:30 a.m. Saturday, while heading west on Interstate 12 in Livingston Parish. Perich's truck veered right off the highway about 3 miles east of Walker, flipped and landed in rainwater, Burns said. Perich, who was wearing his seat belt, drowned. The cause of the crash is under investigation, Burns said.

Robert Leslie Burghoff
Robert Leslie Burghoff was studying the virus that was plaguing cruise ships until he was killed by a mysterious white van in November of 2003.  Burghoff was walking on a sidewalk along the 1600 block of South Braeswood when a white van jumped the curb and hit him at 1:35 p.m. Thursday, police said. Vadake Srinivasan  was one of the most-accomplished and respected industrial biologists in academia, and held two doctorate degrees.  He died in a mysterious single car accident in Baton Rouge, La. Crashed car into a guard rail and ruled a stroke.

William T. McGuire
William T. McGuire was a NJ University Professor and Senior programmer analyst and adjunct professor at the New Jersey Institute of Technology in Newark.  His dismembered body was found floating in three suitcases in the Chesapeake Bay.

Mallove was well respected for his knowledge of cold fusion. He had just published an open letter outlining the results of and reasons for his last 15 years in the field of new energy research. Dr. Mallove was convinced it was only a matter of months before the world would actually see a free energy device.  He Died after being beaten to death during an alleged robbery.

Antonina Presnyakova
Antonina Presnyakova  was the former Soviet biological weapons laboratory in Siberia.  She died after accidentally sticking herself with a needle laced with Ebola.

Dr. Assefa Tulu
Dr. Tulu joined the health department in 1997 and served for five years as the county's lone epidemiologist. He was charged with tracking the health of the county, including the spread of diseases, such as syphilis, AIDS and measles. He also designed a system for detecting a bioterrorism attack involving viruses or bacterial agents. Tulu often coordinated efforts to address major health concerns in Dallas County, such as the West Nile virus outbreaks of the past few years, and worked with the media to inform the public.  Dallas County's chief epidemiologist, was found at his desk, died of a

Dr Paul Norman
He was the chief scientist for chemical and biological defence at the Ministry of Defence's laboratory at Porton Down, Wiltshire. He travelled the world lecturing on the subject of weapons of mass destruction.  He died when the Cessna 206 crashed shortly after taking off from Dunkeswell Airfield on Sunday. A father and daughter also died at the scene, and 44-year-old parachute instructor and Royal Marine Major Mike Wills later died in the hospital.

Here's a trailer for a made-for-TV movie called Toxic Skies that a friend of mine just co-produced. Starring Anne Heche, the film was inspired by the Chem Trails conspiracy theory, which holds that some jet contrails (the vapor trails the form behind jets at high altitudes) are actually toxic chemicals deliberately sprayed at high altitude for an undisclosed but presumably sinister purpose.
